THE CLAYTON POOLE ORCHESTRA & SMALL GROUPS

The Clayton Poole Orchestra and the 'Capital Small Groups' represent the Capital Jazz Orchestra’s sub-set bands that are comprised of some of our first chair musicians. These ensembles perform with various special guests with which we collaborate to present unique shows under the umbrella of a more intimate setting with diverse musical genres. Typically, the Clayton Poole Orchestra will range in size from 10 to 13-pieces depending on the needs of the show being produced. The smaller performing groups fall under the Capital name such as  'The Capital Trio' or ''The Capital Sextet', etc. Past performances have involved such artists as the iconic guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, jazz clarinet great Ken Peplowski, vocalists Clairdee, Count Basie vocal stylist Ms. Carmen Bradford and comedian Pete Barbutti.

A recent production, presented with the Capital Dectet (10 piece) was a salute to an iconic 'American Original' in "A Memoir to Bing Crosby". This exciting new concert, highlighted Bing's illustrious musical career of over 50 years.
