- "AMIT PRODUCTIONS REMEMBERS" SERIES -

The "AMIT Productions Remembers" series showcases presentations that span over different genres and moments in time that influenced the history of popular music. These shows are typically presented in "small group" form either through the 'Clayton Poole Orchestra' - a 10-piece subset of the full Capital Jazz Orchestra - or other performing arts organizations featuring special guest vocalists and musicians . AMIT Productions represents these various artists and presents their concerts to both the local and national stage.

S'WONDERFUL & DE-LOVELY

AN EVENING OF

GEORGE GERSHWIN & COLE PORTER

FEATURING GUEST VOCALIST

CAT FAULKNER

WITH

THE CAPITAL SEXTET

2018 marks the 120th birth year anniversary of the great George Gershwin who died at the incredibly young age of 38. He, along with his contemporary, the inimitable musical maven Cole Porter, composed the lion share of what has become known as "The Great American Songbook". "S'Wonderful & De-Lovely" aptly describes this presentation as both composers are fittingly represented. Both icons were showing their musical genius at very early ages. Cole Porter wrote his first operetta at 10 years of age and Gershwin was working in New York's 'Tin Pan Alley' by the age of 15. Cole Porter was one of the very few composers that not only wrote all of his own music but all of his lyrics as well. Their combined work represents the fabric of American popular song. A sensational vocal stylist along with incredible virtuosic musicians combined with new arrangements of classic Gershwin and Porter songs is the recipe for an unforgettable musical event!
